The terms for using the calculator.

MovingCalculator.io is a free tool for estimating the volume, truck size, and cost range of a move, a planner for saving and comparing estimates, a directory of moving companies, and an embeddable version of the calculator that moving companies can place on their own sites.

This is the most important thing on this page. The numbers the calculator produces — cubic feet, weight, truck size, and cost ranges — are informational estimates based on industry-standard averages and the details you enter. They are not binding quotes and not a guarantee of what any mover will charge.

• Your actual cost depends on your real inventory, route, dates, access, and the mover you choose.
• For a binding price, get a written quote from a licensed mover, ideally after an in-home or video survey.
• We are not a moving company, a broker, or a carrier, and we don’t perform, arrange, or supervise moves.

Some features require an account. You agree to provide accurate information, to keep your password secure, and that you’re responsible for activity under your account. You must be at least 18, or the age of majority where you live, to create one. Let us know promptly if you suspect unauthorized use. You can close your account at any time by contacting us.

• For consumers. When you submit your details to a moving company through an embed or directory listing, you’re asking that company to contact you. We pass your information to that one company. We don’t control their conduct, pricing, or how they handle your information once they receive it, and we’re not responsible for any agreement you reach with them. Vet any mover independently — check licensing and reviews before booking.
• For listed companies. Directory listings are compiled from public information. If you’re a listed company, you may request corrections or removal at any time. Inclusion in the directory is not an endorsement.

Moving companies may embed our calculator at no cost, subject to these conditions:

• We grant you a non-exclusive, revocable, non-transferable license to display the calculator on websites you own or operate, using the embed code we provide.
• Keep the attribution. The embed includes a visible attribution link back to MovingCalculator.io. You must keep that link intact, visible, and crawlable. Removing, hiding, cloaking, or no-following it terminates your license to use the embed.
• Don’t modify the calculator’s functionality, misrepresent its estimates as binding quotes, or use it in a way that breaks the law or these Terms.
• We may change, version, or discontinue the embed, and we may revoke access for misuse.

You agree not to:

• Submit false, spammy, or other people’s information without their consent.
• Scrape, harvest, overload, or attempt to disrupt or gain unauthorized access to the service or its data.
• Reverse-engineer, resell, or white-label the service except through the embed as permitted above.
• Use the service for anything unlawful or to infringe anyone’s rights.

The site, its design, the calculator logic, the catalog data, and the MovingCalculator.io name and marks are owned by us and protected by intellectual-property law. Content you enter or save remains yours; you grant us the limited license needed to store and display it back to you and to operate the service.

The service relies on third parties (hosting, database, email, maps, and analytics providers) and may link to third-party sites such as movers’ websites. We’re not responsible for third-party content, services, or practices. Your use of them is governed by their terms.

The service is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including accuracy of estimates, fitness for a particular purpose, or uninterrupted availability. You use the estimates and the directory at your own discretion and risk.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any losses arising from your reliance on an estimate, your dealings with a moving company, or your inability to use the service. Because the service is free to consumers, our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us, if any, in the twelve months before the claim.

You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from claims, damages, and expenses arising out of your misuse of the service, your violation of these Terms, or — for companies — your handling of leads you receive or your use of the embed.

We may update these Terms as the product evolves; we’ll change the “last updated” date above and, for material changes, give notice where appropriate. We may suspend or end access to the service, or to your account, if you violate these Terms. You can stop using the service at any time.

These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which MovingCalculator.io operates, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Disputes will be resolved in the courts of that jurisdiction.
